VAL D'ISERE SKIING > ACCIDENT ADVICE
Do remember to take out insurance to cover you for any accident on the slopes. Also make sure you organise your EHIC which has replaced the old E111 which is available on line from www.dh.gov.uk
This will cover you for a large percentage of costs.
It will also cover you for a large majority of medical costs if you fall sick.
All services be it on piste or Doctors require your insurance details and your credit card and also show them your EHIC. So carry them with you.
If you are involved in an accident in anyway follow some simple rules.
Do not move the person injured.
Take a pair of skis and cross then in the snow (tails dug in) uphill from the accident to warn other skiers. |
|

Keep the injured person warm.
Ring the ski patrol for help and or send someone to the nearest lift and ask the pisteur there for help
Be clear about rhe piste you are on and any points of geographical reference.
Telephone 0479 08 04 09 (Val d'Isere) 0479 08 08 15 (La Daille)
In the event of an injury you will be taken to the nearest doctor who will then x ray you and decide on a course of action.
The ski resort doctors have a quick turnaround of x rays and will be able to treat very quickly. If there is a need for further treatment they will organise transport to the hospital. |
